Yesterday, SolarWinds, a widely used security and IT management tool, issued a security advisory notifying customers of a cyberattack to their systems that inserted a vulnerability within the SolarWinds® Orion® Platform software builds for versions 2019.4 HF 5 and 2020.2 with no hotfix installed or 2020.2 HF 1.
First and foremost, it’s important to note our internal diligence and investigations of our own services and systems indicate LogMeIn and our products including LastPass, our GoTo portfolio, Central, Bold360 and Rescue, are not impacted by the SolarWinds attack and there has been no compromise to LogMeIn’s systems, services, or customer information as a result. No action is required to further secure any of your LogMeIn services.
While we are not in a position to speculate on the precise circumstances around the SolarWinds attack, we do recommend that you review their security advisory here.
As always, delivering a secure, reliable service for all LogMeIn and LastPass users remains our top priority and we will continue to monitor our services, as well as the SolarWinds situation as new information emerges.
