To simplify employee access to key applications, LastPass now offers the ability for end-users to access their cloud apps in both the LastPass password vault and browser extension. With this enhancement, users will be able to launch their single sign-on applications using the same vault and extension that they rely on to access their passwords.
With single sign-on, your business can facilitate secure access, without employees even knowing it’s there. Single sign-on (SSO) securely authenticates employees into their assigned applications using a protocol, such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), which builds a secure connection between an identity provider (like LastPass) and a service provider (like an app you use at work.) The secure connection created by single sign-on enables employees to access all their assigned apps after authenticating just once into their identity provider.
For businesses with single sign-on applications deployed through LastPass, users will be able to view their assigned single sign-on (SSO) applications under the ‘Apps assigned to me’ folder in the LastPass vault. These apps will also be accessible by searching via the browser extension.
