LastPass’s Accessibility Commitment
As a product used by millions every day, every user is important regardless of how they use technology. It is vital that everyone is provided a way to access their data and information successfully. LastPass is committed to supporting accessibility standards that meet the needs of customers and ensuring LastPass is available to everyone who needs simple, secure access to their online life, at home and at work. To do this, LastPass recently updated the technology to provide better keyboard and screen reader access, remove size, contrast, and markup issues in the LastPass vault– all of which is aligned with WCAG and Section 508 guidelines and is documented in the LastPass VPAT overview.  If you are new to LastPass, you can obtain a VPAT through a Sales Representative; existing customers can obtain a copy through your Customer Success Manager or by contacting support.  All future improvements to accessibility will be reflected in the LastPass VPAT document and periodically updated. If customers have requests, they are encouraged to report the issue through standard LastPass support channels by filing a ticket or by notifying their Customer Success Manager. These requests will be prioritized within LastPass development teams, as necessary. When designing and delivering all new LastPass functionality, accessibility is a core focus.  LastPass will continue to work to make the tool available to more people over time, with the goal of gradually reaching compliance against WCAG 2.1 AA.

What is a VPAT report?

Let’s take a closer look at the importance of the VPAT report, review why your businesses may require this documentation, and learn how to share this information.  A VPAT is a document that explains how information and communication technology products, such as software, hardware, electronic content, and support documentation meet or conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and Section 508 (US) and EN 301 549 (EU) of the Rehabilitation Act.   This Act requires Federal government agencies to develop, procure, or maintain information and communication technology, so that it is accessible to persons with disabilities. Providing VPAT documentation proves 83% WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance for the LastPass Vault.  Often, businesses within government and education industries are required to select products or conduct business with companies that have completed an accessibility assessment and are willing to provide their VPAT documentation. The documentation demonstrates the internal analysis of the accessibility of the product. As accessibility requirements become more widespread, additional industries are requiring VPAT reports as a best practice.  LastPass’s VPAT documentation can be shared under an NDA. To request LastPass’s VPAT, please reach out to your sales representative or your account manager.
