Calling All LastPass Android Users: A Better App Experience Awaits!

Emily CaloPublishedApril 29, 2025

If you use the LastPass app on your Android, you’ll want to stop and read this.

We've updated and improved three key features – autofill, Dark Mode (yes, it’s true!), and sign up – to make your mobile experience more streamlined (and better looking) than ever.

We won’t keep you waiting – let's take a look at these updates based on feedback from users like you!

New Dark Mode

You asked and we listened. The most requested feature from Android users – Dark Mode – is finally here!

The next time you open the LastPass app, the dark/light setting will match your current phone settings. If you have Dark Mode set on your Android, you’ll now see that theme reflected in the LastPass app – no action required.

If you’d like to change this, visit Settings, then Advanced, and then Theme.

Visual issues after switching to Dark Mode? Simply go to your device’s display settings, open Dark Mode options, and select LastPass.

Improved autofill

Hate typing passwords? Love using Chrome?

Google recently made changes to make LastPass work even more smoothly to save and fill your passwords while using your favorite browser – no workarounds or extensions needed!

To enjoy this improved experience, follow these three easy steps (just make sure you're using Android Chrome 135 or higher):

  • Open Chrome, go to Settings, then Autofill services
  • Select Autofill using another service
  • Confirm and restart Chrome

That’s it! You’re ready to autofill using the LastPass app.

The best part is that when you don’t have to memorize your passwords, you can create unique passwords for all of your accounts. And LastPass won’t autofill your data on scam websites, keeping your sensitive data out of the hands of bad actors. Easy and safe – win-win!

Easier sign up

New to LastPass? The first step is always the hardest. But we're making it easier than ever to get you up and running on your Android.

You’ll notice a more responsive sign-up screen and have an easier time adding that first password to your vault with a new dedicated step.

And that first password? Make sure it’s unique and has at least 12 characters (that will take a hacker 34,000 years to crack). Need some help? Be sure to use our free Password Generator to create a strong, unique password.

Coming soon

What’s next for Android users? Stay tuned for more updates to your LastPass experience, including easier autofill setup and tutorials, a new onboarding menu, and passkeys beta (!!!).

It’s all part of making security simple and ensuring your LastPass experience works best for you and your Android.
