Bot activity targeting users engaging with LastPass on X platform

It has recently come to our attention that recent posts from our customers on the LastPass X social media account are eliciting a large influx of suspected bot replies. In one observed instance, several suspected bots replied in rapid succession to a user posting a comment on our X profile. Generally, the suspected bots claimed they received no response from the support center and directed the legitimate user to reach out to a third-party individual to resolve their issue. Typically, the purpose of this activity is to get customers to engage with specific, non-affiliated accounts, which puts customers at potential risk of potentially sharing sensitive information with a third-party. We are raising awareness of this inauthentic behavior to notify our customers who currently use X.

If you need customer support, please go directly to our website, https://www.lastpass.com. As always, please take the appropriate precautions, and if you have any questions if a social media account, email, or phone number is legitimate, please submit it to abuse@lastpass.com.
