About 50% of Gen Alpha change their avatar’s outfits weekly, while 62% of Gen Z say having a visually appealing avatar is important.
Scammers know this and act accordingly.
A common scam involves hackers posing as game developers and asking victims for permission to use their avatar outfits in a game. They promise a big payout and invite victims to copy and paste a link containing malicious JavaScript code into their browser’s address bar. Once that’s done, the hackers steal session IDs, log into their victims’ accounts, and transfer Robux (Roblox currency) to their own accounts.

How to Reset Your Roblox Account Password
Using the "Forgot Password" Feature
If you’ve forgotten your login info, you’ll need to reset your Roblox password.
To do this, head to the Roblox login page and click “Forgot password or username?”
You’ll be taken to the “Recover Your Roblox Account” page, where you’ll enter your email or phone number.
If you entered your email, look for the Roblox email with a “Reset Password” button. Click on the button to open a page, where you’ll enter your new password twice. To confirm the update, click the “Submit” button.
If, however, you entered your phone number, you’ll receive a 6-digit code by text. Enter this code into the “Verify Phone” box on the Roblox page and click “Verify.”
The password reset page should pop up: enter your new password twice and press the “Submit” button to confirm the update.
How to Recover Your Roblox Account Without Email or Phone Number
We often hear, "Can you get your Roblox password back without using an email or phone number?”
The short answer is, no.
If you’ve been hacked and are experiencing login issues, your best bet for account recovery is to contact Roblox customer support.
- First, head to the Roblox support page at https://www.roblox.com/support.
- Enter your birth date (month/day/year) and click “Continue.”
- Fill in your account information, such as your Roblox username and email address.
- Next, answer the question, “What device are you having the problem on?” Choose your device from a drop-down menu and then select “Account hacked or “Can’t log in” for “Type of Help Category.”
- In the next dropdown, choose “Account hacked,” “Forgot password,” or “2-Step Verification.”
- Finally, describe your issue and click “Continue.”
- You may be asked to complete a Captcha challenge. A pop-up will inform you that your request has been received, and an email from Customer Service has been sent to begin the recovery process.
But what if you never added an email or phone number to your account?
It’s important to know that the above form can’t be submitted without an email address. That said, if you never added an email to your account, simply enter your most current email address on the form.

The Support team will then ask for information such as your username, password, and other pertinent account info to start the recovery process.
Troubleshooting Reset Issues
Be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see an email from Roblox Support.
