As a password manager, LastPass remembers and automatically fills in the user’s passwords for every website and app. The user only has to remember their one master password for LastPass. LastPass syncs across all browsers, computers, and mobile devices so users have access to all of their data when needed. The NET+ LastPass service is well-suited for institution-wide adoption due to the flexible packages offered. Shaped to meet the unique needs of Higher Education, the NET+ LastPass service offers:> Unlimited use of LastPass Enterprise and LastPass Premium for all faculty, staff and students. Typically, LastPass Enterprise is deployed to faculty and staff, while LastPass Premium is offered to students, but the choice is the university’s to make.
> LastPass Enterprise includes an easy-to-use ‘Admin Console’ with dozens of configurable security policies, turn-key integration with Active Directory and LDAP for simplified deployment, and an overarching ‘Parent/Sub’ structure to facilitate use by multiple schools within a single institution. Team password sharing features allow IT teams and others to share login credentials for servers, software, and web sites.
> LastPass Premium includes individual ‘consumer’ accounts that afford no centralized control. Great for helping students and employees keep their personal data safe and accessible. Upon purchase, relevant email domains can be whitelisted, so that all new subscribers will be automatically upgraded to LastPass Premium.
These features are in addition to the core benefits of the Internet2 NET+ program, which include a robust set of legal agreements, community security vetting, and a unique service delivery model that facilitates university-wide adoption.
