Take 5 Easy Steps Toward Good Password Behavior With LastPass
The first step is always the hardest. And if you’re looking to protect your business by instilling good cybersecurity practices amongst your employees, LastPass’s new onboarding for Business users can help guide them through the critical steps to set up their LastPass accounts. It’s an intuitive (and quicker) onboarding process for users, which, in turn, offboards this burden from IT admins. When this new experience is enabled, users will see a panel on the right side of their vault that encourages them to try LastPass features. By offering guidance through five simple onboarding steps, more users will adopt and use LastPass more quickly. Additionally, upon completion of the five steps, first time users will see a reward screen informing them that LastPass will plant a tree on their behalf with the Arbor Day Foundation. Set up LastPass and plant a tree in the process – win-win!  So, let’s review the five easy steps your employees can take right now to set up LastPass.

Generate strong passwords

Easy to remember means easy to hack. LastPass, however, can help you create strong, random passwords. Pet names, addresses, and birthdays may hold a special place in your heart, but they should stay out of your LastPass vault.

Try autofill

Let LastPass do the work for you. Autofill automatically populates form fields with your information when you visit your saved sites. But why stop at passwords? Autofill addresses, credit card information, and more. Give your memory (and fingers) a break!

Visit your Security Dashboard

Stay ahead of hackers by visiting your Security Dashboard, your cybersecurity command center. Check your security score – the higher the better! -- and update any weak or reused passwords that could put your accounts at risk.

Install the browser extension

Make the LastPass experience even easier by installing the browser extension. The extension gives LastPass the ability to anticipate the secure information users need to store and use. It will prompt you to save passwords to your vault, generate new passwords (and then save them), fill in forms, and more.

Add your first password

Take the first step to password peace of mind by adding your first password to the vault. Think about the first site you go to each day. Is it checking your messages on your work email? Scrolling your Slack feed? Start there (you can add more later!).   Mobile iOS users can also enjoy the onboarding experience with a slightly different set of steps, including turning on Face ID. Onboarding is currently not available for Android users.

Set up LastPass, plant a tree

Last July, the Bootleg Fire broke out in Southern Oregon, burning 413,765 acres of forest, which devastated the Klamath Falls Basin, a hub for biodiversity. When you set up LastPass, you’ll help the Arbor Day Foundation replant 5,000 acres of the Basin. Trees planted in the Klamath Falls Basin will greatly improve the river’s water quality and help affected species thrive well into the future. LastPass onboarding makes setup more intuitive and seamless for a new user, encouraging faster and broader adoption. Empower your employees and offload the onboarding burden from IT all while keeping your business secure.
