So, whether you secure your business with LastPass or use it to keep your personal or family’s credentials safe, read on to learn more about what you can explore today, and what's just around the corner.

In case you missed it

Didn’t get a chance to read our first Insider? Curious about all the new features launched last year? Check out our inaugural post here Have you heard the big news? LastPass is becoming an independent company. You’ll start to see us deliver an enhanced LastPass while investing directly in areas that you've told us are most important. This is the same great product, now with even more focus on keeping your data safe.

What’s new and available now

If you use LastPass for your business:
  • LastPass now integrates with Google Workspace
LastPass Business launched an integration with Google Workspace in December 2021. Sync your Google Directory with LastPass to easily provision employees to streamline adding and removing users. Once your Directory is integrated with LastPass, federate to enable a seamless login experience that provides users access to LastPass using their Google credentials, improving ease of use and driving adoption across your team.
  • LastPass Okta federation update
For businesses that use Okta as their Identity Provider, a new authorization flow between LastPass and Okta is available. Okta now supports the Authorization Code flow with a Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE), which is currently the most secure method for controlling access between two parties.  Update your federation configuration to enhance your security! Learn how here. This is currently available for all browser extensions except Safari and Android.

Keep an eye out for what’s coming soon

If you use LastPass for your business:
  • New Custom Admin Levels in Unified Admin Console (UAC)
Custom admin roles will be available in the new admin console in the near future. As an Admin you’ll be able to grant users the right level of access to do their job, provide you with more control and allow employees to be productive while keeping company data secure. You will be able to create as many custom roles as needed. Custom admin roles will not automatically migrate from the legacy admin console to the new admin console. But don't worry! We'll reach out to help you re-create your custom admin roles and remind you periodically, so nothing is lost. Plus, this is a great time to clear out admin roles you may not need.
  • Ping integrations
LastPass will offer two new identity provider integrations, PingOne for Workforce and Ping Federate. Both Ping integrations will allow admins to set up automated provisioning through a directory integration while providing end users a seamless login experience by federating, enabling employees to use their existing Ping credentials to log in to their LastPass vaults.
  • Dark Web Monitoring reporting
Adding to the latest Dark Web policy for Admins, you will now have greater insight into end users' Dark Web Monitoring alerts. Admins can view which users have Dark Web alerts, ensuring accountability when it comes to breaches of sensitive company data. If you use LastPass to secure your personal credentials:
  • More comprehensive Dark Web Monitoring Alerts
In our latest Psychology of Passwords Report, 83% of respondents said they wouldn’t know if their information was leaked on the Dark Web. Coming soon, LastPass’s Dark Web monitoring alerts will include more accurate combinations. This means a more targeted scan of your information on the Dark Web, which translates to a better understanding of possible breaches.
  • Password strength in vault
While you always have access to your Security Dashboard, your vault will soon include a badge highlighting any vault item that has a weak, reused, or breached password associated with it, to provide you with increased visibility. If you’re using an at-risk password, the LastPass password generator can help you create a stronger inventory of passwords (and boost your score). Like this Insider look into LastPass?
