The Benefits of MFA With LastPass Business

LastPassJune 24, 2021
As businesses build a secure foundation for a work-from-anywhere world, multifactor authentication (MFA) offers critical protection for every access point. With its Authenticator application, LastPass enables businesses to go beyond password management to prevent unauthorized access to accounts, particularly when credentials are compromised. By offering plug-and-play options that blend smoothly into an employee's workday, LastPass makes MFA accessible for businesses looking to capitalize on the added security benefits of stronger authentication requirements. With LastPass Business, you can utilize the LastPass Authenticator app to add an extra layer of security to your LastPass vault or SSO apps at no other cost. To unlock passwordless authentication, geofencing or IP address authentication policies, or to add LastPass Authenticator on top of your VPN, workstation, or identity login, you’ll need to add our Advanced MFA offering. With the launch of LastPass Business, admins enjoy an improved LastPass MFA experience and advanced options to increase company security. Updates include:
  • One comprehensive app: LastPass MFA now provides one Authenticator application to eliminate confusion and streamline control for admins and employees. From a simple push notification to passwordless protection, LastPass allows admins to choose the right level of protection for their organization with a single easy-to-use Authenticator app.
  • Seamless MFA Admin experience: Add MFA protection to your endpoints with a new admin experience that increases visibility and streamlines MFA deployment.
  • Extra security for workstations: Coming this summer, Admins can add a security check to employee workstation login by requiring MFA on top of a workstation password. Ensure that the person accessing the workstation is who they say they are and reduce cybersecurity risk.
  • Protection for VPNs: Require MFA for VPNs to provide an additional layer of network security. With new integrations with the top VPN providers, such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, OpenVPN, and more, LastPass amplifies your endpoint security to reduce the risk of a cybercriminal gaining access to your network.
From cloud and legacy apps to VPN and workstations, LastPass MFA offers passwordless access while maximizing security. With customizable security policies, such as geofencing and IP address, and adaptive authentication technology to alert admins to suspicious behavior, your business can significantly increase security without adding employee friction. "The new LastPass Business is worth the extra money, given that MFA is already baked into what we're paying for versus a whole new third party system we'd have to setup from scratch," says Joshua Clark, Network Specialist, Columbia Public Schools. Combining MFA with comprehensive password management allows your business to secure all web logins while adding a layer of protection to all other endpoints, locking down access to every endpoint while solving employee password fatigue.
