New LastPass Security Dashboard and Dark Web Monitoring Now Available

LastPassAugust 05, 2020
The information you share online shouldn’t put you at risk. But as data breaches continue to increase – especially as we’ve moved more of our work and personal lives online – it’s hard to guarantee your information won’t be leaked or stolen. For many individuals, you may not even know your information has been compromised. A recent LastPass survey * found that 86% of people have no way of knowing if their information is on the dark web. With so much out of your control, how can you protect you and your family online? We know that keeping up with security threats is not something you have the time or resources to do. With LastPass you don’t have to. Our new Security Dashboard is your home for managing you and your family’s online security – making it simple to stay safe in an increasingly digital world. LastPass already takes care of your passwords, now you can extend that protection to more of your digital life. The new LastPass Security Dashboard provides an overview of the security of your accounts all in one place. LastPass can monitor your accounts, alert you when you are at risk, and provide simple and actionable steps to protect yourself.  You’ll see weak and reused passwords so you know what needs to be updated. For LastPass Premium and Families customers as well as all business end users, we are also introducing dark web monitoring which checks if your email addresses are compromised, so you can rest assured you and your family are safe online. With dark web monitoring, LastPass proactively checks your email addresses against our partner Enzoic’s database* of breached credentials. If your email address has been compromised, you will be alerted with an email and an in-product alert that specifies the email and account that is at risk. From there, you will be prompted to update your password for that account. The best news is – all this work happens in the background, with no extra effort from you. Once you turn dark web monitoring on, LastPass will handle the rest. Rest assured, we will alert you if there’s anything you need to know. With all of these updates, you’ll have better insight into the safety of your digital life and be empowered to protect yourself if a breach occurs. Be sure to log into LastPass and explore the Security Dashboard and try out dark web monitoring.
