LastPass Now Secures Workstations and Identity Providers With Our Advanced MFA

LastPassJuly 29, 2021
As businesses move to support a hybrid workforce yet cybercrime continues to rise, securing all entry points to a business is crucial to reduce the risk of a successful data breach. However, passwords alone won’t secure your business. With 80% of data breaches being due to weak or reused passwords, businesses require an additional layer of security to ensure their sensitive information remains secure. LastPass now offers businesses the ability to seamlessly secure all their endpoints under one comprehensive multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution. Businesses can protect everything including VPNs, cloud & legacy apps, and now – workstations and identity providers – with the LastPass Advanced MFA offering. This release has expanded the security use case of the Advanced MFA offering. Now, businesses can utilize LastPass to add a secondary security check to their Windows and ADFS or Azure AD logins to maximize protection without slowing down end-users. Workstation for Mac will be available next month. With a single, easy-to-use authentication experience, businesses can provide their employees secure access to all the resources required for their roles.

Securing Azure AD and ADFS

For many businesses, Azure AD or ADFS admission grants user access to important and sensitive resources. With cyber-crime rates higher than ever, it’s crucial for businesses to secure their user’s identity provider access with multi-factor authentication. Businesses can now utilize the Advanced MFA offering from LastPass to protect external identity providers, including Azure AD and ADFS.  With Advanced MFA, businesses have the flexibility to utilize the LastPass as a secondary check when their user’s login into their Azure AD or ADFS accounts – increasing security and ensuring sensitive resources remain secure.

Securing Your Workstation Login

An employee’s workstation is one of the most exposed access points in an organization, and with employees working from everywhere, it’s important to ensure this login is secure to prevent unauthorized access. Workstation Login adds a multi-factor authentication security check to the login process to increase both security and productivity for businesses. Using the secure authentication technology of LastPass MFA, Workstation Login authenticates employees to log into their workstation using biometrics, such as fingerprint or face ID. Securing all access points with multi-factor authentication reduces the risk of a successful breach by ensuring that the person logging in to the workstation, ADFS, or Azure AD can confirm their identity with another device and biometrics.
