The general product availability is complimented with brand-new research aimed at offering you clarity and actionable steps to further improve your organization’s IAM program: The SMBs Guide to Modern Identity.
We partnered with market research firm Vanson Bourne to understand how organizations are managing identity today, particularly SMBs who may not have the resources of a larger enterprise. We surveyed 700 IT and security professionals at organizations ranging from 250 to 2,999 employees, across a variety of industries in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific to understand the greatest risks, unique challenges and key priorities for SMBs.
In the report, we’ve combined Vanson Bourne’s findings with what we’ve learned from our customers to offer you both quantitative and qualitative insights in managing identity.
Identity Is a Top Priority, But There Are Challenges
If one thing from the data is clear, managing identity is a top priority for IT professionals. We found 65% of organizations have prioritized upgrading their identity and access management capabilities, and 81% agree managing identity should be a higher priority.
When it comes to specific technologies, 95% of IT security professionals surveyed report that their organization should place more emphasis on the importance of strong password behavior, 90% say managing user access is important to their organizational security, and 59% of IT professionals agree that strengthening user authentication with MFA technology is critical.
However, SMBs are also facing challenges; 92% have experienced at least one identity challenge and the average organization struggles with three. It’s no surprise then that 82% have been exposed to a risk due to poor IAM practices.
