Moving Away from LastPass 3.0

LastPassJune 28, 2018
When we launched “LastPass 4.0” almost two years ago, we set out to improve LastPass in a few critical ways. We aimed to make the service look better and perform more accurately. While we got some things right, we missed the mark with others. Since then, we’ve spent many hours talking with our users, combing through feedback, and developing the new look and feel of LastPass If you signed up for LastPass since last July, you’ve been seeing this look all along. Our long-time users are still awaiting this update, and before we share it with them, we must bid goodbye to an older LastPass, known as 3.0.

The Latest LastPass

Until now, we’ve offered a toggle to 3.0 to give users flexibility over their vault. But maintaining two user interfaces is challenging. Ultimately, it splits our time and resources between the two versions, rather than dedicating all of our efforts to one consistent experience for all. As a result, we’ve made the decision to retire the 3.0 version on August 1st, and focus all of our efforts on the new LastPass. You don't need to do anything. On August 1st, you will automatically see the latest LastPass experience.  This update brings all the behind-the-scenes improvements we’ve been making to the underlying logic and performance of LastPass, as well as changes to our in-field and extension menus, vault structure, and password generator. Based on your 4.0 feedback, we also recommend exploring the
" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> ‘grid view’ and ‘list view’ options, as shown here, to find a layout that works for you.      We want to keep making a LastPass that you use and enjoy, and to do so, we need your feedback. So please share your suggestions and experiences with 3.0 with us. By sharing constructive feedback you’re helping us shape the future of LastPass and better serve you. We’re doing everything we can to make the transition as seamless as possible and will continue to work toward a LastPass that will make it easier to manage and access your digital life. As always you can contact support if we can address any questions or concerns.
