Smile for the camera (or don’t!) – LastPass supports Face ID!

LastPassNovember 03, 2017
Here at LastPass, our mantra is Effortless Security.  Every day, we work to figure out ways to eliminate friction for end users so we can continue to provide the most simple, seamless and secure access to your passwords. Today, we are excited to announce another step towards effortless security as LastPass now supports Face ID on the iPhone X. Now, LastPass users can use Face ID to open up their LastPass vault, instead of typing the master password.  A picture is worth a thousand words – or in this case a 3-D map of your face will get you access to all of your accounts!  Simply open the LastPass app, look at your iPhone X and you get instant access to your credentials.

How does Face ID work?

The iPhone X comes with Apple’s TrueDepth camera that projects and analyzes more than 30,000 invisible dots to create a precise depth map of your face that is securely saved to the phone’s hardware chip.  Face ID will get smarter every time you use it and will also be able to recognize you even if you grow a beard or change your hair style – so go ahead and grow that Movember mustache!  Learn how to set up your Face ID today. LastPass already simplifies your online life by remembering your passwords for you.  Now, with the ability to access LastPass with Face ID – you have an even more frictionless experience to access your credentials.
